Fox 2000 Acquires the Film Rights to "Chronicles of Ancient Darkness"

Fox 2000 has purchased the film rights to Michelle Paver's children's book series, "Chronicles of Ancient Darkness." Scott Free Productions' Ridley Scott and Erin Upson will produce.

Variety reports Paver's first book in the series, "Wolf Brother," was optioned for $250,000 against $1 million. "Wolf Brother" will hit bookstores in the U.S. in February 2005 and is already a bestseller in the U.K.

The "Chronicles of Ancient Darkness" series takes place 6,000 years ago and follows a young boy named Torak who, along with his wolf friend, tries to save the world.
