Sep 9, 2006 - Filmmaker Wes Craven is hard at work on a screenplay for a new psychological thriller set up at Rogue Pictures. Based on his original idea, Craven's next project will be set in a small town...and that's all he'll give away at this time.
Craven (Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream) will direct and produce the film. In conjunction with the announcement of his next project, Rogue Pictures confirmed Craven and his new production company - Midnight Entertainment - have committed to a two-year first-look deal with the studio.
In a press release issued by Rogue Pictures, Rogue co-presidents Andrew Karpen and Andrew Rona said, "Wes Craven is a leading director, one whose filmmaking skills are revered by genre fans and respected by the film community. His professionalism is known and admired throughout the industry. Were delighted that his Midnight Entertainment will be based here at Rogue.
Craven added, "Andrew Rona and I have a long history of working together, and Im delighted to be in business with him again and with Andrew Karpen. I look forward to making many fun and successful films at Rogue.
In addition to the psychological thriller, Rogue Pictures will be distributor of the remake of The Last House on the Left, which is currently seeking a director. The Last House on the Left is scheduled to start production in early 2007.
