LAIKA Entertainment announced Dakota Fanning ("Dreamer," "War of the Worlds," "Man on Fire") will provide the voice of Coraline in the animated movie, "Coraline," which marks LAIKA Entertainment's first full length animated feature.

Henry Selick ("Nightmare Before Christmas," "James and the Giant Peach") is writing the script and will direct the movie, which is based on Neil Gaiman's bestselling novel. The story follows a young girl who walks through a secret door in her home and discovers an alternate universe where a different version of herself lives, complete with different parents and friends. Her adventure turns dangerous when her other set of parents try to hold her in the alternate reality world forever.
