Teri Hatcher Joins the Cast of the Animated Movie, Coraline

Hatcher Spends Her Desperate Housewives Break on Coraline

By Rebecca Murray, About.com

May 26, 2006 - Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher has signed on to provide the voice of dual roles in the stop-motion animated movie, Coraline.

Stop-motion film veteran Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach) adapted Neil Gaiman's bestselling book Coraline for the big screen and will be directing the film. Storyboard artist, designer and animator Mike Cachuela is co-directing.

Pandemonium Films president/CEO Bill Mechanic and LAIKA Entertainment's Mary Sandell are producing Coraline.

Coraline - The Official Synopsis

In Coraline, a young girl (Fanning) walks through a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternate version of her life. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life - only much better. But when this wondrously off-kilter, fantastical adventure turns dangerous and her counterfeit parents try to keep her forever, Coraline must count on her resourcefulness, determination, and bravery to get back home.

Hatcher will voice the role of Coraline's Mother, as well as the role of Other Mother.
