If it were April 1st I'd think this bit of news is a joke, but being it's the end of October it appears the news is dead serious. Variety is reporting Steven Soderbergh - the filmmaker behind The Good German and the Ocean's movies - will be directing Cleo, a Cleopatra movie in 3-D.
According to Variety, Soderbergh's Cleo isn't your parents' Cleopatra. James Greer wrote the screenplay for the rock 'n roll musical, with Soderbergh trying to get Catherine Zeta-Jones to play the lead role and Hugh Jackman (a man who knows a thing or two about singing and dancing) to play Marc Antony.
Soderbergh's next project to hit theaters will be Che, a two-part biopic on Ernesto 'Che' Guevara. He recently wrapped work on The Informant with Matt Damon and is filming The Girlfriend Experience with porn star Sasha Grey.
