Jan 21, 2008 - Never one to steer away from controversial subjects, filmmaker Oliver Stone is setting his sights on directing a film about US President George W Bush. If everything goes as planned and funding is secured, Stone hopes to release his film, W, in time for the presidential election this fall.

Busy actor Josh Brolin will play President Bush. Stanley Weiser wrote the screenplay with Moritz Borman and John Kilik onboard as producers.

Stone was set to direct Pinkville for United Artists however that film has been shelved (at least temporarily) due to 'script problems'. Stone most recently stepped behind the camera for World Trade Center starring Nicolas Cage and Michael Pena as the last two Port Authority officers rescued after the buildings collapsed on 9/11.

Brolin is also attached to star in Milk with Sean Penn and Emile Hirsch.
