The Coen Brothers Next Film, 'Burn After Reading,' has a 2008 Release Date

Focus Features Strikes While the Iron's Hot

By

March 3, 2008 - Hot off their multiple Academy Award wins for the dramatic film No Country for Old Men, Focus Features has set a September release date for the next movie from Joel and Ethan Coen. Burn After Reading will hit theaters on September 12, 2008.

The Coen Brothers not only directed the pic but also wrote and produced the comedy. Burn After Reading reunites the filmmaking team with George Clooney who previously starred in the Coen Brothers' O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Intolerable Cruelty. Burn After Reading also features Brad Pitt, John Malkovich, Frances McDormand (aka Mrs Joel Coen), and Tilda Swinton (who just won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in Michael Clayton, which, coincidently, starred George Clooney).

The behind the scenes team includes director of photography, costume designer Mary Zophres, and production designer Jess Gonchor.

Burn After Reading - Official Synopsis

John Malkovich plays an ousted CIA official whose memoir accidentally falls into the hands of two unwise D.C. gym employees intent on exploiting their find.
