Nicholson and Freeman are set to play two cancer patients who decide to spend their last days crossing items off their 'bucket list' (a wish list of things they want to do before kicking the bucket) instead of in a hospital.
The Bucket List was written by Justin Zackham and will be produced by Craig Zadan, Neil Meron and Alan Greisman. Filming is expected to begin in late 2006.
Reiner's last two films - Rumor Has It with Jennifer Aniston and Alex and Emma with Kate Hudson - both tanked at the box office. While that's not exactly a good sign of things to come, Reiner's last collaboration with Jack Nicholson was on A Few Good Men, one of Reiner's most successful films.
