June 16, 2005 - Filming has begun in Tijuana, Mexico on Lions Gate Films crime thriller "Borderland." Brian Presley, Rider Strong, Jake Muxworthy, Martha Higareda, Roberto Sosa, Jose Maria Yazpik and Damian Alcazar star in the dramatic filmed based on true events.
Lions Gate Films describes "Borderland" as "the story of three young men who end up on the wrong side of an ancient cult in Mexico. Three Texas University seniors, on the eve of their graduation, road-trip to a Mexican Border town for a final weekend of drinking and debauchery. Their vacation becomes a living nightmare as the trio runs afoul of an ancient blood cult looking for human sacrifice."
Lauren Moews, Randall Emmett, George Furla, Elisa Salinas will produce the film. Susan Jackson, M. Dal Walton, III, Deborah Davis, Keith Previte, Rafael Gutierrez Rodriguez, Jeff Rice and Steve Whitney will serve as executive producers.
Zev Berman ("Briar Patch") will direct "Borderland" and co-wrote the screenplay with Eric Poppen.
