Although I'd love to report James Cameron is prepping "Aquaman," he's not. Instead Cameron's finally ready to move forward on "Battle Angel," a sci-fi thriller he'll be doing with 20th Century Fox.Supposedly Cameron wants to cast an unknown in the lead role. The story is based on Yukito Kishiro's graphic novels and follows Alita, a 14-year-old female cyborg rescued from the scrap heap by a doctor who becomes her surrogate father.
Cameron claims he'll be shooting "Battle Angel" utilizing a revolutionary process partly based on the same performance-capture technology that was used in "The Polar Express." Cameron developed the process which will allow him to envision the whole movie in a digital set-up prior to shooting any actual actors.
Cameron and 20th Century Fox plan on releasing "Battle Angel" in the summer of 2007.
