Dec 20, 2008 - Universal Pictures and Spin Master Ltd have come to terms on a deal which will bring the game/anime series Bakugan Battle Brawlers to the big screen as a full-length feature film. For those, like myself, who have no idea what a Bakugan Battle Brawler is, apparently they're "marble-like balls that transform into powerful Bakugan monsters when rolled on game cards." I'm still not sure I have a clue what that means, but the toy line was one of the most popular over the 2008 holiday season.
In announcing the deal Ronnen Harary of Spin Master Ltd said, "Bakugan brings something original and exciting to the boys' action genre and we're looking forward to working with Stuber Productions and Universal to unleash that power on the big screen."
Universal's Donna Langley added, "Bakugan provides an excellent concept and storyline for an action packed motion picture thriller. We are pleased to be joining forces with Spin Master and Stuber to bring this increasingly popular game to the big screen."
