May 7, 2007 - My Best Friend's Girl* may have found its leading man. Comedian-turned-actor Dane Cook is in talks to star in the movie for Lionsgate Films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Cook's been keeping busy tackling leading and supporting roles in various film projects, including the dramatic movie Mr Brooks starring Kevin Costner as a serial killer. He'll next be seen with Jessica Alba in Good Luck Chuck.
My Best Friend's Girl will be produced by Guymon Casady, Doug Johnson, Adam Herz, Greg Lessans, Josh Shader, and Cook's production company Superfinger Entertainment. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting Howard Deutch (The Whole 10 Yards) is close to signing on to direct.
The story follows a man whose job is to make sure women have miserable experiences when dating him so that they'll think twice about the man they just dumped.
