THINKFilm Acquire Beastie Boys' "Awesome, I F**kin' Shot That"

On October 9, 2004 the Beastie Boys decided to be really adventurous. Handing out cameras to 50 members of the audience at their sold-out Madison Square Garden concert, the Beastie Boys - and their fans - created a truly original concert film: "Awesome; I F**kin' Shot That Thing."

THINKFilm announced it has snapped up the distribution rights to "Awesome," which was directed by Beastie Boys member Adam Yauch (aka Nathaniel Hornblower) who also produced the film along with fellow Beastie Boy, Jon Doran.

In a statement released by THINKFilm, THINK theatrical division head Mark Urman said, "'Awesome' is the only word that can describe the experience of watching this film. It's totally modern and witty aesthetically, but also fabulous to watch and listen to."

Yauch said the film was photographed by "a bunch of untrained camera operators. But that gives the film sincerity. The people that shot it, were feeling it."

THINKFilm plans to release "Awesome" in the spring of 2006.
