Lionsgate is preparing to bring Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" to the big screen. Lionsgate picked up the movie rights to the classic novel which was written by Rand in 1957 and runs 1,100 pages. It's all just rumors and semi-educated guesses at this point, however Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's names have been thrown out as two potential stars of "Atlas Shrugged." Variety speculated that since Jolie is a big fan of Rand's, she may be interested in a starring role in the film. And since they threw Jolie's name out there as a likely candidate for a part, then it was only natural Brad Pitt would get tossed into the mix as sort of a package deal.
Lionsgate hasn't confirmed the budget for "Atlas Shrugged" or announced who will helm the project.
