Mar 25, 2010 - Paradox Entertainment is reviving Buck Rogers and has set Paul W.S. Anderson to direct. And, as with almost every movie being announced this year, this Buck Rogers adventure will be in 3D.

Variety reports two of Iron Man's writers, Art Marcu and Matt Holloway, will work on the screenplay. Lawrence Abramson and Fredrik Malmberg are producing, with George Furla and Flint Dille executive producing. There's no word yet on casting or when filming is anticipated to begin.

Paradox Entertainment's official site has this description of Buck Rogers: "Buck Rogers, a fearless military test pilot, falls into a coma after an accident and awakes in the 25th Century. In a time where man has subjugated, Buck must band together with the new military and use his 21st Century ingenuity to rid the world of an evil alien race."

The character of Buck Rogers originated in a comic strip created by Philip Francis Nowlan and published in January 1929. Since its creation, Buck Rogers has spawned a 1939 serial with Buster Crabbe in the title role, as well as two television series (one in the '50s and one in the '70s).

Anderson's directing credits include Mortal Kombat (1995), Resident Evil (2002), AVP: Alien vs Predator (2004), Death Race (2008), and Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010).
