Brand has already committed to voicing the Easter Bunny in the comedy to be directed by Tim Hill. Hill seems to be specializing in animal/furry creature-related films having previously helmed Alvin and the Chipmunks, Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties, and Muppets from Space. Hill's filmography suggests he's an animal-lover, so a bunny movie would appear to be right up his alley.
Marsden's role in I Hop will be as a man who injures the Easter Bunny and must care for him as he recuperates. And Brand's bunny is going to be a very, very bad patient.
Filming is expected to begin this fall, with the studio hoping I Hop delivers Easter treats (none of those marshmallow peeps for me, please!) in April 2011.
Marsden recently completed work on two remakes. First up is Death at a Funeral, a reworking of the 2007 film from director Frank Oz. And in 2011 Marsden will be seen in the new version of Straw Dogs directed by Rod Lurie and co-starring Kate Bosworth and Alexander Skarsgard.
