Nicholas Hoult Joins the Cast of 'Fury Road'

Jan 28, 2010 - Nicholas Hoult has joined the cast of Fury Road, the fourth film of the Mad Max franchise and the first film of the series not to star Mel Gibson. Fans of About a Boy remember Hoult as the fresh-faced, scene-stealing son of Toni Collette's character. Hoult was recently seen - all grown-up but still fresh-faced - in the critically acclaimed drama A Single Man with Colin Firth and Julianne Moore.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting Hoult will play a character named Nux, but that's all that seems to be out there about his involvement in Fury Road at this time.

Hoult joins Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron who are set to star in this latest Mad Max film from writer/director George Miller, the man behind all three previous Mad Max movies: Mad Max, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Miller's also the writer/director of the Babe movies and the animated penguin movie, Happy Feet.

Miller's currently in pre-production on Fury Road with an eye on starting filming this coming summer.
