Jan 6, 2009 - Good for Anna Kendrick. The 24 year old actress burst onto the scene in 2007's Rocket Science, followed that up with a supporting role as one of the human classmates of Bella (Kristen Stewart) in Twilight and New Moon, and could possibly be earning an Oscar nomination for her performance in Jason Reitman's Up in the Air. She'll next be seen in Scott Pilgrim vs the World hitting theaters later this year. Yes, her career has really taken off. And now word comes, via The Hollywood Reporter, that she's signed on to star in Mandate's cancer comedy/drama (which may or may not be called I'm with Cancer) alongside Seth Rogen and James McAvoy.

Screenwriter Will Reiser penned the script which chronicles his personal experience of being diagnosed with and battling cancer. McAvoy plays a character based on Reiser, and THR reports Kendrick will play a fledgling psychologist who treats him.

In addition to Kendrick boarding the project, The Wackness director Jonathan Levine has stepped in to direct following Nicole Holofcener's departure.

James McAvoy has The Last Station in release and just completed work on The Conspirator, directed by Robert Redford. Seth Rogen is in post-production on The Green Hornet, the action film based on the classic radio series created by George W. Trendle.
