April 25, 2006 - Apparently the niceties exchanged between actor Viggo Mortensen and director David Cronenberg after working together on A History of Violence were sincere. The two will be reuniting on another film, the thriller Eastern Promises, for Focus Features and BBC Films.
Written by Steven Knight, according to The Hollywood Reporter the film deals with the Russian mob, a prostitute's death while giving birth, and a mysterious man (to be played by Mortensen).
Director Cronenberg is also rumored to be attached to Maps to the Stars and London Fields. Mortensen recently wrapped work on Alatriste for writer/director Agustin Diaz Yanes.
