Bart Freundlich (who is married to the film's star, Julianne Moore) wrote and directed the romantic comedy with Tim Perell of Process Productions and Sidney Kimmel serving as producers on "Trust the Man."
"Trust the Man," which had its world premiere at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival on Monday, September 12, is described as a "sophisticated comedy about the challenges of love and marriage among modern day New Yorkers."
In a statement issued by Fox Searchlight, studio President Peter Rice said, "Our entire company was instantly enamored with this incredibly charming romantic comedy. 'Trust the Man' is witty, irreverent and wonderfully relatable thanks to Bart Freundlich's crisp writing, pointed direction and amazing ensemble cast.”
Fox Searchlight plans to release the film in 2006.
