J.J. Abrams Takes on "Mission Impossible 3"

Aug. 16,2004 - Paramount Pictures and Cruise/Wagner Productions have selected J.J. Abrams as the man to direct the third film of the "Mission: Impossible" franchise starring Tom Cruise.

JJ Abrams rocketed to popularity as the creator of TV shows "Alias" and "Lost.", Having directed those series as well as his show "Felicity" and will be making his feature film directorial debut with "Mission Impossible 3."

After some prep work in Berlin, filming is expected to begin during the summer of 2005.
