Jan 4, 2005 - In a press release issued by the Spielberg Family, it was announced the Steven Spielberg and his family will be donating $1.5 million to the tsunami relief. The Spielbergs have elected to give their donation to Save The Children, CARE, and Oxfam.
In making the announcement, the Spielbergs acknowledged the fact they normally give their donations anonymously. However they felt it was the right time to go public with their support of the relief efforts as a way of encouraging others to donations.
