"The Island" is a sci-fi thriller which, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is about a 'harvested being' who tries to make a break from the utopian facility where he is kept (I'm not sure exactly what that means, so don't ask for clarification). The story is based on a Caspian Tredwell-Owen spec script, with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci doing a rewrite.
The Hollywood Reporter reports "The Island" is tentatively scheduled to begin production in the fall of 2004.
Ewan McGregor will next be seen in "Stay" opposite Naomi Watts. McGregor's also got "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" on the horizon.
