20th Century Fox has hired Dan McDermott to pen the script to a new "Charlie Chan" movie. Lucy Liu ("Kill Bill") will star in the project and serve as an executive producer.According to The Hollywood Reporter, this new version of "Charlie Chan" revamps the story to feature the famed detective's granddaughter.
McDermott told The Hollywood Reporter, "It's a reinvention of the franchise that credibly passes on the baton to Lucy Liu as the lead character and lead of the franchise."
Lucy Liu will next be seen in the Tony Scott film, "Domino," a drama loosely based on the life of bounty hunter Domino Harvey.
