LaBeouf began landing parts on TV in 1998, with the TV movie Breakfast with Einstein marking his professional acting debut. LaBeouf followed that with roles in The X-Files, Freaks and Geeks, and ER before nabbing one of the main roles in the Disney series Even Stevens.
Transitioning from TV to feature films, LaBeouf was cast as the lead in Holes in 2003. That led to parts in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, The Battle of Shaker Heights, and Dumb and Dumberer. His acting resume got an impressive boost with 2004's I, Robot in which he played a sidekick to the film's star, Will Smith.
LaBeouf's entered A-list territory when he landed the coveted starring role in Michael Bay's Transformers which was released in 2007, the same year as two of his other films, Surf's Up and Disturbia, entered theaters.
