2007 was a super busy year for actor Shia LaBeouf (Transformers, Surf's Up, Disturbia) and 2008 is shaping up to be just as full. LaBeouf recently signed on to New York, I Love You and has just said yes to Universal Pictures' The Dark Fields, a thriller based on the first novel by Alan Glynn.
Neil Burger is directing the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Dirk Wittenborn. Glynn's novel centers around MDT-48, a drug that makes your brain function perfectly and makes its users more focused and attractive. Eddie Spinola's on the drug and experiencing side effects including headaches and violent outbursts. Hooked and out of drugs, Eddie discovers there's a lot more to MDT-48 than he even imagined.
LaBeouf will next be seen in the fourth Indiana Jones movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. He recently finished work on Eagle Eye which reunited him with Disturbia director D J Caruso.
