In 2004 it seemed as though Jude Law was in at least one movie every month. It actually wasn't quite that bad, but Law was featured in six theatrical releases that year. Since then Law's slowed down, but he's recently been in the news with a couple of big projects. My Blueberry Nights premiered at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and he just wrapped filming on Sleuth, the remake of the 1972 Michael Caine movie. There are also rumors floating around that he'll have a starring role in Zack Snyder's Watchmen.
It's now confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter that Jude Law will team up with Best Actor Oscar winner Forest Whitaker for the sci-fi thriller, Repossession Mambo. Eric Garcia (Matchstick Men) and Garrett Lerner (House MD) wrote the screenplay and Miguel Sapochnik will be making his feature film directorial debut with the Universal Pictures movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the futuristic thriller centers around a repo man "made up of artificial organs". After receiving a new heart, he can't make his payments and in turn becomes one of the people he used to hunt down.
Whitaker will next be seen in The Air I Breathe, Vantage Point and Ripple Effect. He's currently working on The Great Debaters and Night Watch.
