May 2005 - Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx ("Ray") has joined Beyonce in the movie version of the stage play, "Dreamgirls," for DreamWorks Pictures. Bill Condon will direct the film and adapted the screenplay.

When DreamWorks announced the start of production on "Dreamgirls" back in January 2005, they confirmed this film version will retain the music from the stage play including "One Night Only" and "I'm Telling You I'm Not Going."

Foxx has been cast as Curtis Taylor Jr, the manager who leads the female singing group, The Dreamettes, to fame and fortune. According to Variety, the studio is still in the process of casting The Dreamettes. Filming is expected to begin on "Dreamgirls" in January 2006.

Beyonce will next be seen in "The Pink Panther" with Steve Martin and Kevin Kline. Jamie Foxx has "Stealth" co-starring Josh Lucas and Jessica Biel ready for release this summer as well as starring roles in "Jarhead" and "Miami Vice."
