Angelina Jolie plays the role of the world’s first supermodel Gia Marie Carangi in this made for TV film. Carangi's short career was jammed with love, insecurities, cocaine, happiness and heroin. Jolie gives a commanding performance full of emotional ups and downs, a riveting portrayal of Carangi with a sad ending.
This role would captivate audiences and bring them back for more.

In this film Jolie plays mental patient Lisa Rowe, a girl who has a problem distinguishing between her aorta and her jugular vein. In this film which mixes disturbing comedy and high drama, Jolie brought the best out of her co-star Winona Ryder
Typecasting? Perhaps, but why mess with success. Besides, what’s the difference between crazy and original?
Speaking of original, this film shows Jolie's physical as well as emotion beauty. Playing the role of Julia Russell - or is it Bonnie Castle? - Original Sin
is the story of a mysterious woman who's the mail order bride of a successful Cuban plantation owner.
This role is the story of both women, and both women are being sought after by the very delectable Antonio Banderas
. It could also be considered a highly erotic film with bits of rough stuff thrown in.

Jolie plays super gal Lara Croft, a wealthy woman whose favorite pastime is finding objets d'art of historic value. There’s no job she can’t handle, no object buried too deep, and no man who doesn’t fall for her.
From video game to big screen, no one else could have pulled off this role and made it as fun as Jolie did. Great character, great accent and super cool action...stir in Jolie and it’s a cherry on the cake.

What’s better than being Mrs. Smith? Being a bad-ass Mrs. Smith. Jolie plays Jane Smith, a happily married businesswoman. Living with her husband, John Smith (Brad Pitt
), they lead an idyllic life. That is until the secret comes out that they're assassins who must now take each other out.
Jolie can’t fry up bacon for breakfast, but she sure can wield heavy weaponry! This is her chance to mix comedy, romance and full-out action, and she absolutely pulls it off.

Jolie plays Olympias, mother to one of the greatest historical figures ever known: Alexander (played by Colin Farrell
). As Olympias, she pushed hard to raise her son to a position of power. She goes against her husband King Philip (played by Val Kilmer
) at every turn until she is spurned and cast aside.
There is nothing worse than a woman scorned, unless it’s a woman scorned who happens to have a huge evil streak. Jolie’s wardrobe, accent, eye makeup and jewelry all contribute to her character and make her supporting appearance in the film seem bigger than the small role it actually is.

In The Changeling
, Jolie plays Christine Collins, mother of a missing boy named Walter. Set in 1928, this film tells the true story of the kidnappings of other young boys in the same area. And when the LAPD attempts to pass another boy off as her son, Jolie’s character sets in motion an outcry of police corruption and abuse of power.
This role was stunning for Jolie. She played it low-key and humble, with the weeping kept to a minimum - not that the story doesn’t call for lots of tears. Jolie kept the focus on the story and Christine Collins’ place in that story. Well done.

Talk about action in high heels! Jolie plays Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent who's being framed as a rogue Russian spy out to perform an assassination. Instead of doing the chasing, she is now the one being chased in this action-packed spy thriller.
Once again Jolie proves that having a lot of kids and a famous husband won’t stop her from doing stunts that make most women’s bones just ache from watching her. You go girl!

In this film Jolie plays new cop on the block Amelia Donaghy. She's assigned to quadriplegic and smartest cop in the world Lincoln Rhyme (Denzel Washington
). He's the brain and she's the brawn behind this who-done-it thriller.
Don’t get me wrong; Jolie is smart as well. It’s just hard to argue with a guy who has more electronic wizardry than any cop walking a beat.

Based on a true story, Jolie plays Mariane Pearl, wife of Wall Street Journal
reporter Daniel Pearl. Visiting Karachi in 2002, Daniel never returns home after meeting with an Islamic fundamentalist cleric. Mariane turns to the police in Karachi, the American Embassy, as well as the FBI, to find out who has him and why.
This is a hard film to watch for some because of the nature and end result of this true-life story. Jolie, playing a pregnant Mariana Pearl, does her character justice and honor in a story that needed, however difficult it is to take in, to be told.
