The first thing you should know about Brian Geraghty is that he looks absolutely nothing like his character in "Jarhead." As 'Fergus,' Geraghty sports the standard Marine haircut and thick-rimmed glasses. In person, Geraghty looks more like a Southern California surfer. This is important to keep in mind as Geraghty's a newcomer and "Jarhead" will more than likely be the first time you're introduced to the up-and-coming actor who has roles in "Art School Confidential," "When a Stranger Calls," "The Optimist," "Bobby," and "The Guardian," all in various stages of production.

"Jarhead" star Jake Gyllenhaal has nothing but praise for Geraghty's performance as Fergus in the hard-hitting drama. Gyllenhaal and Geraghty face off in a crucial scene in the film, a scene which actually cost Gyllenhaal a tooth. In fact Gyllenhaal said that things got so emotionally intense during and after the scene, that he and Geraghty stopped talking for a month when that scene was done.

Brian Geraghty on His Difficult Scene with Jake Gyllenhaal in "Jarhead:" "Well we had a little time apart from ourselves but I mean, it was a very intense scene where he almost kills my character. ...Everything was fine. We took it to the limit. Hopefully when you see the film you’ll acknowledge that. We’re better for it."

Brian Geraghty on His Attraction to "Jarhead:" "I always loved war films so it’s that particular thing, as well as Sam Mendes directing it and Bill Broyles the screenwriter. It’s just a really well done script. We didn’t know what part I was going to play initially. I had to go in and audition for things and then it ended up this part."

Did Being a Part of "Jarhead" Affect His Opinion of the Military? "Yeah. What we were doing is not even in comparison to what the Marines actually do. We did not even do 1% of what they do and it was difficult. So I am so impressed and I take my hat off, and I’m so grateful. I didn’t know what these people have to go through. I mean, we’re making a movie and it’s tough. Imagine they’re about to die in war or they’re away from their families. That’s just amazing to me so, yeah, it absolutely changed my opinion."

Brian Geraghty on His Upcoming Projects: Geraghty has joined the cast of Emilio Estevez' passion project, "Bobby," and will be seen in "The Guardian" with Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher.

Geraghty says he'll be playing a Kennedy campaign guy in Estevez' "Bobby" which focuses on the day Robert F Kennedy was assassinated. Geraghty added, "And then in 'The Guardian' I play a [guy in the] Coast Guard. We’re training to be the elite rescue swimmers."
