Simon Hunter will direct "The Mutant Chronicles." Hunter also co-wrote the script with Ross Jameson. Ed Pressman, Stephan Belafonte, Pras Michel, and Tim Dennison are producing the film.
"The Mutant Chronicles" is set in a world in which Earth has been all but destroyed by greedy corporations. Underworld dwellers, the NecroMutants, hate humans and want to purge the planet of our type in order to take possession of whatever remains. Jane plays the leader of a group of soldiers who battle the vicious NecroMutants.
Filming is expected to begin mid-2006.
Jane and comic book author Steve Niles recently signed a deal with Lions Gate Films to bring Niles' stories, including "The Lurkers" and "In the Blood," to the big screen. Jane's currently working on "Killshot" for director John Madden and has "The Punisher 2" in the works.
