Evan Glodell, Tyler Dawson and Jessie Wiseman Bellflower Interview

Actor/writer/producer/editor/director Evan Glodell joined his Bellflower cast members Tyler Dawson and Jessie Wiseman at the 2011 Comic Con to promote his independent film that's been getting a lot of buzz after being screened on the film festival circuit. Bellflower is - to quote the tagline - "a love story with apocalyptic stakes" about two buddies who are into building flamethrowers and other dangerous weapons (including a souped up car nicknamed Medusa) so they'll be ready just in case the apocalypse ever comes. Plot twists abound as Milly (Jessie Wiseman) enters the picture as a woman Woodrow (Glodell) meets and falls for.

And at Comic Con, we managed to grab a few minutes with Glodell, Dawson and Wiseman to chat about making the film on a shoestring budget with a bare-bones crew, and with an unwavering determination to see the project through to completion:

Bellflower Plot:

In the dystopic future of Bellflower, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to a particular virtue: honesty, selflessness, bravery, peacefulness, or intelligence. After leaving her family for a rival faction, sixteen-year-old Beatrice undertakes a brutal initiation in her new home while keeping a secret that could lead to her death. But when she discovers growing unrest between the factions of her seemingly-perfect society, Beatrice must decide whether to reveal her true self in order to save the ones she loves.
