Eddie Kaye Thomas Discusses the American Pie Movie Franchise
Eddie Kaye Thomas has no movies coming out because he’s busy with the TV show ’Til Death. But the American Pie legacy lives on as they keep pumping out straight to video sequels. We got his thoughts on the new generation, in this December’s The Naked Mile, when we visited Thomas on the set of his show.

What do you think of the straight to video Pie sequels?
“I think it’s great. I hope they’re compensating the actors that are doing them. I really do. Beyond that, it’s exciting that something can generate that much material. Hopefully the studios will use the money to make more good movies. But it is a very serious issue that might come to a head next year about actors getting compensated for DVD sales. I hope that they are getting compensated?”

Did they hit you up for a cameo?
“No, they don’t even ask. I would love the money. I would probably do it in a heartbeat. But I think it’s like they want the whole new generation. Once you’ve got Eugene Levy, that’s enough.”

Are you still in touch with the cast?
I read the Us Weekly. No, me and Biggs are very good friends. He’s a very good friend of mine and beyond that, I see Chris Klein once in a while. Everyone’s so busy, we’re all very lucky to stay busy. So it’s nice to not be sitting around reminiscing about the old days when we’re only in our mid-20s. Hopefully when we’re in the actors’ retirement home, we can reminisce but right now we’re all still doing pretty well.”
