Behind the Scenes of “24” with Kim Raver

Is Filming “24” as Fast-Paced as the Finished Product? “It is, I have to say. It’s really amazing. Kiefer Sutherland really likes to set the tone with that. He sets the tone really high with the work, and then also the speed. You can tell the way the speed of the show is, that’s really the way the speed of the shooting is too. It’s really fast. I mean, there’s definitely serious moments and heavy moments that have to be worked through. And because of Kiefer we take the time to do that, which is unusual that you get that on television. And it just feels like it gets faster and faster, the speed keeps picking up. It’s amazing that we’re shooting #21 right now.”

The Appeal of Working on "24:" “There’s so many elements to it. I mean, Kiefer Sutherland was definitely a major element to it and Joel Surnow, the producer and creator of it was another one. But I loved the role. I mean, Audrey Raines is a smart, intelligent female but she’s vulnerable and sensitive, and she’s at really a strange time in her life. And also I liked her because she’s flawed.”

On Being Put Through the Wringer Each Episode: “…My eyes are still swollen from yesterday. It’s pretty emotional but that’s also kind of a great [part of it]. We’re also doing it take after take after take, but when you get to play opposite people like Kiefer and Bill Devane, there’s such a high caliber of actors. It’s also a great challenge to an actor to be doing that - and the writing is so good.”
