Catching up with LeBar at the World Premiere of "Exorcist: The Beginning," I got a chance to find out more about his role in "Entourage" - and a chance to voice my one complaint about the series.
INTERVIEW WITH JOSHUA LeBAR:
Your character makes an entrance in the 4th episode or so of the series?
I actually come in the 5th. I have a couple episode arc, and Im a rival agent of Mr. Jeremy Piven. And, basically, Vince [Adrian Grenier] is sort of the commodity Im seeking. Next week [on the show], I throw a sort of mega-bash and I have a proposition.
Good stuff has come. The show got picked up for another season and we just have high expectations. The skys the limit from here as far as that goes.
And this shows had some big guest stars. Even Val Kilmer was in one episode.
He was in my episode as the Sherpa. Next week we have another great special guest star. I dont know how HBOs handling that so I dont want to really reveal it. But we started with Jessica Alba, Mr. Wahlberg appeared in one. Jimmy Kimmel weve just had really, really solid stars in every single episode.
Whats life like on the set?
Its just a dream. The producers and the directors they hire are such down-to-earth, cool guys that I think thats why the show has such a cool feel to it is because, you know, the people that are creating the show, they know this. Theyve been here, theyve done it. Mr. Wahlbergs input its good stuff.
I have one complaint about the show.
Whats that?
Its only half an hour. You just get into it and its over.
Oh gosh, thats my mothers same freaking problem with it. She says she gets into it every week and then right when she gets into it, the episodes over. But I think that also keeps an element of making people want to come back. Theres an addictive quality to whats going to happen this week, and I think thats why weve got 14 more on the way. And more and more people watch it every week, the ratings just keep going up and up.
What kind of comments have you heard?
A lot of people wonder if its sort of real-life Hollywood. If this is just a sort of mock portrayal. A lot of people wonder if all agents in Hollywood are like [Jeremy Piven's character] Ari. I just hear everybody loves Adrian [Grenier]. You get things like this. But overall the feedback's been very good. Its a hot show with lots of hype around it and like I said, I think it can go through the roof.
Do you have an entourage?
[Smiling] Well, you know, Im from the Midwest so I keep close with my Midwest boys out here. If one of us gets a little piece of the action, I like to bring everybody else along as well.
What can we expect from upcoming episodes of Entourage? How many episodes are you signed on for?
Well, we already shot the first eight. So theyre actually writing Episode 9 right now. Weve been picked up for 14 more, but theyre in the middle of 9 so the exact storyline is still being crafted.
