Guide Review - "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" 2-Disc Special Edition DVD
The StoryIndiana Jones and his new sidekick Mutt (Shia LaBeouf) go in search of the Crystal Skull of Akator, a super mysterious object said to have mystical powers. But as with all Indiana Jones adventures, there are a lot of bad guys who don't want the college professor to succeed. In this fourth Indiana Jones movie, the lead bad guy is a gorgeous Russian played by Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett.
The Bonus Features
The 2-disc special edition Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull DVD has an above average collection of bonus material with featurettes that don't just gloss over the making of the film. In fact, the extra features contain so much insight into the making of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and the thought process behind the storyline, that they might actually make viewers who aren't into the out of this world twists in the movie at least appreciate why the filmmakers opted to take the story that direction.
The special edition 2-disc DVD also contains must-see production diary featurettes, a look at the real crystal skulls, and an entertaining glimpse into the special effects. There's also a bit on the iconic props of the Indiana Jones series and a batch of behind-the-scenes photographs. Overall, a decent collection of extras to keep you absorbed for a few hours.
