Hugo Film Trailer
Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese tackles his first 3D with Hugo, a fantasy adventure film based on the bestselling book The Invention of Hugo Cabret. The much shorter title of just Hugo was eventually settled on for the film version, although Hugo Cabret might have made more of a connection in the minds of readers of the book. Hugo, at least to my way of thinking, sounds pretty boring (no offense to anyone named Hugo, it's just not a title that would have gotten my vote) so it's a good thing the trailer's anything but boring. The trailer's in 2D however it's easy to picture how this film would look in the 3D format. I trust Scorsese knows what he's doing - his visual style as a filmmaker is normally spot-on - so as long as audiences aren't too weary of donning those uncomfortable, screen-darkening 3D glasses, Hugo could perform well at the box office in that format.
Take a look at this first trailer and see what you think of Scorsese's latest project:
Hugo stars Asa Butterfield, Chloe Moretz, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Jude Law, and will hit theaters on November 23, 2011.
The Plot:
Hugo tells the story of an orphan boy living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station. With the help of an eccentric girl, he searches for the answer to a mystery linking the father he recently lost, the ill-tempered toy shop owner living below him and a heart shaped lock, seemingly without a key.
