Jared Padalecki on the Appeal of Horror Movies: For me its like a roller coaster. Its the same reason you go to a theme park. You strap yourself to the seat and you sit down and you take it for a ride. Your stomach is up and down and your pulse is racing. Your hearts pumping and your adrenalines going. And you forget about your life for a second. All of a sudden youre having a fun time. Youre in the moment and you forget about doing the dishes and doing the homework and all that other crap you have to do in your life.
Filming House of Wax in Australia: I had a great time. I flew Sandy [McCoy] out. She and I flew out and we went to the Great Barrier Reef and went scuba diving. It was so beautiful. Australias so beautiful. Everybody is like, Its the Outback. Its going to be sand Its gorgeous. Its green and the Great Barrier Reef is a wonder of the world.
House of Wax vs. Other Horror Movie Remakes: This one? Its different than everything. Its not only a horror remake, its sort of a generation flick, with all the young kids in it and the music and the special effects and the sound effects. Its a fun movie. Even if you dont like horror movies, its going to be fun to go and watch.
Memories from the Set and His Favorite Day of Filming: After joking that his favorite days on the set were his days off, Padalecki confessed he really did have a good time just hanging out with the rest of the cast. We had a good time. As much as Id like to say it was the hot wax sequence, it definitely was not. We just had a good time. Sometimes wed take a football and Chad [Michael Murray] and I would throw the football around and just play Xbox in the trailer and just have a good time. So usually my favorite day on set was when I didnt have to work too much.
Next Up for Jared Padalecki: Cry Wolf: I did it with Sandy McCoy. Shes my girlfriend. Its a sort of thriller with a message. Thats the best way I can sum it up with one line. I play a guy named Tom whos sort of a rich preppie, prep school kid with too much pride who ends up getting himself in trouble.
Sandy McCoy, who accompanied Padalecki on the red carpet for the House of Wax premiere, plays Mercedes in Cry Wolf. McCoy described Mercedes as the popular girl who is popular for no good reason. Boyfriend Padalecki expanded on that definition by adding, Shes the hot one.
