By , About.com Guide

June 10, 2005 - "Lords of Dogtown" star Emile Hirsch has signed on to the dramatic movie, "Goat," based on Brad Land's "Goat: A Memoir." David Gordon Green ("Undertow") wrote the adaptation and will direct "Goat."

"Goat" is Brad Land's story of being the victim of two strangers who beat him up, robbed him, and left him for dead. Following that incident, Lang followed his older brother to college where he joined a fraternity and was subjected to brutal hazing rituals.

Scott Rudin and Christine Vachon will produce the film. John Wells will executive produce. Filming is expected to begin later this year.

Emile Hirsch will next be seen alongside Justin Timberlake in "Alpha Dog."
