Elizabeth Banks’ Role in “The 40 Year-Old Virgin: “Well, the title says it all. Steve Carrell plays the part of the virgin so they’re trying to rectify that situation. And I play one of the women who is up to the task of seducing him out of his virginity, but I prove a little too intimidating in the end. I think he’s more frightened of me than attracted to me.”
On Working with Steve Carell: “It’s great fun. A lot of the movie we did we got to do a lot of improve, which is one of my favorite things to do. The director just let the film roll and roll and roll and wouldn’t call cut and so it was like, ‘Alright, we’ve just gotta keep going until we roll out of the camera.’ We just had so much fun. He is just a master at improv and it’s such a joy to have somebody who’s that open and just like coming up with ideas every other second and just really in the moment. We just had so much fun doing it.”
Also on the Horizon – “Slither:” “Also very funny. I read it and I swear I got that job because I went to the meeting with the director and I said I thought this was really funny and he was like, ‘Yeah, somebody gets it.’ I’d sort of say it’s like ‘Fargo’ meets ‘King Kong’ with a sort of ‘Alien’ element to it. The monster… It’s really a big monster. It’s an old-school monster movie. It’s like bumbling small town cops, you know, Keystone Cops have to fight off this monster and they don’t really know its origin or where it came from or really what it even is, and we sort of all band together to fight this monster.”
Will Elizabeth Banks Return as Miss Brant in “Spider-Man 3?:” Banks said she’s definitely returning in “Spider-Man 3” but doesn’t know yet exactly what she’ll be doing. “I have no idea. I got a phone call recently apprising me of the dates but other than that I don’t really have any information. But I’m really thrilled - I love Topher Grace – I’m friendly with him. I think he’s a great actor and I’m very excited for him to do it. And Thomas Hayden Church, too, I think he’s gonna be fantastic,” said Banks.
Will Miss Brant be Interacting with the Villains?: “I have no idea. I just do whatever they tell me to do. I just am thrilled to be a part of the franchise.”
