Guide Review - "Harsh Times" DVD Review
Christian Bale stars as Jim Davis, an ex-Army Ranger/war veteran who can't find a job in the civilian world. Freddy Rodriguez (Bobby) and Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) co-star in the directorial debut of Training Day writer, David Ayer.
Jim's personality fits his trained killer background and is one of the main reasons he can't land a job working in law enforcement in Los Angeles. Haunted by memories of his time spent in the military, Jim uses alcohol as a means of escaping from having to think too much about his past actions. Preferring his buddy's company over time spent alone, Jim drags Mike (Rodriguez) - a guy who's trying to do the right thing - back into their old life of crime on the streets of South Central LA.
