The actors involved in David O Russell's romantic comedy Nailed have been allowed to return to work following a brief shutdown in production due to financial problems. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting the Screen Actors Guild has given the go-ahead for the film's cast, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Jessica Biel, and James Marsden, to return to work.
SAG had told its members to cease working on Nailed because of an issue involving funds to pay the actors. The shutdown was just the latest trouble on the set of Nailed. Early on in production actor James Caan exited the movie over differences with the film's mercurial director. Russell has a reputation for getting into it with his actors, and there's even a video on YouTube showing a particularly harsh argument between Russell and Lily Tomlin on the set of I Heart Huckabees. And George Clooney and Russell had an altercation on the set of Three Kings after Clooney reportedly stuck up for the crew.
Russell co-wrote the Nailed screenplay with Al Gore's daughter, Kristin. Filming is expected to finish up June on the film which follows a woman with a nail in her head who goes to Washington DC to campaign for better health care.
