Ryan Gosling and Anthony Hopkins Sign on to Star in "Fracture"

A Thriller from Castle Rock and New Line Cinema

By Rebecca Murray, About.com

Nov 4, 2005 - Sir Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling ("The Notebook") have committed to starring roles in the movie, "Fracture," to be directed by Gregory Hoblit ("Hart's War") from a script by Daniel Pyne and Glenn Gers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Fracture" is a thriller about an assistant district attorney (Gosling) involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a man (Hopkins) who tried to murder his wife. Gosling doesn't give up, even after Hopkins is set free on a technicality.

Ryan Gosling's last film was "Stay" which co-starred Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts and bombed at the box office. Gosling just wrapped work on "Half Nelson" for writer/director Ryan Fleck.

Hopkins has "The World's Fastest Indian" currently on the festival circuit and is working on "Bobby," Emilio Estevez's Robert F Kennedy movie.
