Cam Gigandet and Chris Marquette have landed the lead roles in Kid Cannabis, an action drama based on the true story of a couple of young Idaho guys who find fortune by building a multimillion-dollar marijuana ring. Turistas director John Stockwell is helming the film from a screenplay he adapted from articles on the subject.Production is expected to begin mid-July.
Cam Gigandet picked up an MTV Movie Award for his fight scene with Sean Faris in the teen drama Never Back Down. He recently wrapped work on Twilight, the big screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's best selling book. Gigandet plays James, a truly nasty vampire who is fixated on Bella (Kristen Stewart), the human girlfriend of Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a vampire who doesn't feed on people.
Chris Marquette (Alpha Dog) is currently working on Race to Witch Mountain starring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Carla Gugino.
