Donal Logue is one of those actors that always pops up in a lot of movies. He’s got a big slate coming up with Ghost Rider, Zodiac and Fast Track, all the while with Knights of Prosperity airing on TV. We caught up with Logue at an ABC TV party to get the scoop on his movies.

Did you shoot all these movies before starting Knights?
“Yeah, I shot all those movies before Knights of Prosperity. I shot 10 between Grounded for Life and Knights of Prosperity. But after the pilot for Knights of Prosperity, I shot three movies that are coming out.”

What’s your role in Ghost Rider?
“I play his best friend/mechanic kind of guy. It’s kind of like my Just Like Heaven character a little bit. In Zodiac, it’s a huge cast and I’m just a Napa County Sheriff’s department [guy], this guy Ken Narlow who’s officiating over one of the murders of the Zodiac Killer. Then in Fast Track I play kind of like a hippy guru ad agency executive.”

Does your character know Nicolas Cage’s character is the Ghost Rider?
“No.”

How much does he tell you?
“He can’t. I keep trying to get information from him and he just gets weirder and weirder.”

Ultimately, are there any effects involved with your character?
“Something happens to me, yeah.”

Is it a similar vibe to Blade?
“Yeah, and similarly fun in that way. Fun to do.”

Ever have a scene with Nicolas Cage wearing a blue mask?
“We did all that weird stuff, but Nic and I had really kind of normal scenes together which I liked. It wasn’t too effects-oriented. But we did do stuff with the motorcycles, jumping, which was a lot of effects.”

Were there any live stunts?
“There were a lot of live stunts too. It’s a huge movie. It’s crazy.”

Is your character in Zodiac based on a real person?
“Yeah, absolutely.”

Is he still alive?
“Yeah, exactly. Ken Narlow. Interesting guy and sweet guy. Very affected by these murders. It’s a weird murder story because there’s, as opposed to Son of Sam or something, you don’t have a really dynamic break in the case that you find out who the killer is. The Zodiac Killer just kind of stopped. They think it’s somebody who passed away, but they’re not sure.”

Have you ever played a true life character before?
“Yeah, tons.”

Will Knights allow you to promote these movies?
“Oh, I’m sure. I’m sure. It’s all good. I’m sure it helps them.”

Do you get to be funny in Fast Track?
“Yeah, I think Fast Track is pretty funny. We’ll hope it’s funny. I play a hippie ad executive who Zach [Braff] has to work for, a real loser. Jason’s hilarious in the movie. Jason Bateman’s one of the funniest guys out there by far, an awesome actor.”
