Guide Review - "Garage Days" DVD Review

"Garage Days" is an outrageous look at one band's struggle for fame. After months of practicing, all they lack is one gig to show the world what they're capable of. Fortune smiles on them when they have a chance meeting with one of Australia's best managers. After a series of misadventures while trying to get the manager to hear their demo, the group finally gets their big break - a live performance in front of thousands of screaming fans - only to have it end up being not in the least bit what they expected.

Wild, raucous, sexy, and hilarious, "Garage Days" was directed by Alex Proyas ("I, Robot") and stars Kick Gurry, Maya Stange, Pia Miranda, Brett Stiller, Chris Sadrinna, and Russell Dykstra. The chemistry between the band members is so good, you'll actually believe you're watching a real garage band. And director Proyas' touch gives the movie a surreal feel, perfectly capturing the sex, drugs, and rock and roll atmosphere.

The bonus features are well worth checking out, particularly the "Garage Days Backstage Pass" and "Behind the Garage Door" featurettes. In candid interviews, the cast and crew discuss working on this movie, learning how to play their instruments, and try to explain the attraction of being a rock star.
