The Bottom Line

Forgetting Sarah Marshall is a romantic comedy with balls (literally) and bite. Raunchy yet with a lot heart, FSM follows in the tradition of 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up, R-rated comedies that tell surprisingly sweet stories.

Guide Review - "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" Collector's Edition DVD Review

The Story

As a way of getting over his breakup with TV star Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell), Peter Bretter (Jason Segel) heads off to Hawaii to soak up some sun and suds. But as he's checking into the hotel, who should show up but none other than Sarah and her new man, rock star Aldous Snow (Russell Brand). Of course that totally blows Peter's plans for forgetting about Sarah Marshall, but fortunately a hot little hotel clerk (Mila Kunis) is willing to help him get over being dumped.

The Bonus Features

Where to begin? The Collector's Edition DVD has so many bonus features it takes more than one sitting to get through them all. Along with the standard deleted scenes, gag reel, and behind the scenes videos, the 3-disc set (one disc is a digital copy of the film) includes a truly hilarious commentary track by the cast, director, and producers. There are also a couple of features on the Dracula puppet play, audition tapes, some videos of Russell Brand in character, and alternate versions of Sarah Marshall's TV show.

Plan to devote hours to checking out the extra features. They're all worthy of being included on the DVD and are almost as funny as the film itself.
