Feb 4, 2008 - The big screen version of Land of the Lost has just expanded its cast by one. Anna Friel, who plays a dead girl brought back to life by her childhood boyfriend in Pushing Daisies, has been cast as Will Ferrell's love interest in Land of the Lost.

News of a film adaptation of Land of the Lost has been circulating for years, but apparently Universal Pictures is edging closer to getting the film into production. Brad Silberling (Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events) will direct the film from a screenplay by Chris Henchy and Dennis McNicholas.

The 1970s TV series followed the adventures of Rick Marshall and his two kids, Holly and Will. The Marshall family was accidently transported back in time to the world of dinosaurs while rafting down the Colorado River.

Will Ferrell will next be seen in Semi Pro and Step Brothers.
