The timing couldn't be worse for New Line Cinema. Farrell's supposed to be actively participating in the publicity tour for the Terrence Malick film, "The New World." It's unlikely Farrell will be able to do his part to promote the film, which is a big-budget affair set in 17th century Jamestown, Virginia and is based on English explorer John Smith's (Farrell) fateful meeting with the Indian princess, Pocahontas.
The rehab center wasn't identified and Farrell's publicist asked everyone to respect the actor's privacy at this time.
