Kirsten Dunst on Cameron Crowe’s Very Personal Connection to “Elizabethtown:” “Every director you work with, you want them to have an emotional reason why they want to do this movie. Other directors I’ve worked with have written things and it’s very personal to them.

Cameron’s much more specific with the words than a lot of directors are. He feels like his movies are much more like a play, I feel like. But you want an emotional investment from any director you work with, and all of Cameron’s movies are him. I feel like that’s why his movies are such a separate genre from other films. You know it’s a Cameron Crowe movie. His movies are like these anthems and really big emotional songs.”

Kirsten Dunst Missed Out on the “Elizabethtown” Roadtrip: While Orlando Bloom travels across America listening to tunes and visiting various famous and obscure monuments, Dunst didn’t have the same opportunity. “I didn’t go to any of those places. They went to all those places. The only thing that was made up was the Second Largest Farmer’s Market.”

Kirsten Dunst on “Spider-Man 3:” Dunst said she’ll start work on “Spider-Man 3” in January. Dunst was pretty close-mouthed about the third Sam Raimi “Spider-Man” movie but she would confirm she does have to do a couple of things to prepare. “Actually, I do have to take some lessons in different things, two different things. But I can’t say because then I’m going to give stuff away,” revealed Dunst.

Dunst said that “Spider-Man 3” will probably be her last film of the franchise. “Yeah, unless they pay me exorbitant amounts of money. No, I mean, if there’s more story to tell and if Sam Raimi’s on board, if everyone is then maybe… But this is what I was signed to do for three.”

Kirsten Dunst on Her Approach to Acting: “The most truthful I’ve been in movies is when I put all of me in the film, when I’ve been the most free. The roles I’ve been most proud of are when I’ve just showed what I feel and not really worried. It’s more about you investing yourself in it. You can say, ‘I’m getting into this character.’ It was freeing working on ‘Eternal Sunshine.’ I don’t work well with Take 30. I work well with really amazing actors.”

Kirsten Dunst on Maturing as an Actor: “Now I just feel different. I’m more of a collaborator. I know the way I like to work. I know what I need. I know what environment I’m the best in, so it’s just getting to know that.”
